The Helix can be used on multiple areas of the body including the face, neck, hands, arms, and chest.

CoolPeel

The CoolPeel is the Helix’s ablative CO2 laser that heats and treats the top layer of skin. Damaged and unhealthy skin is removed, and the jump starts the collagen production. The heat from the laser helps to tighten lax skin. Superficial CoolPeel treatments are quick and have little to no downtime and are most effective when using treatment packages. More advanced treatments can be used to target deep wrinkles and acne scars and may require more downtime.

Sultra

Sultra treatments with the Helix laser and non-ablative and gradually treat fine lines, improve skin tone and texture issues. The light-based energy targets water in the tissue below the skin and, stimulating collagen production so the skin looks more youthful and healthier over time. As the wavelengths used in the Sultra setting so not target pigment and melanin specifically, it is safe for all skin tones.

Fusion

The best of both worlds, the Helix can combine the effectiveness of the ablative CoolPeel with the non-ablative benefits of the Sultra. This allows for faster healing and enhanced results. Your provider can customize your treatment using a mixture of the wavelengths offered by CoolPeel and Sultra to specifically target your skin care concerns. The Fusion is able treat all skin tones safely.

CO2 Laser

The CO2 laser option that the Helix provides is adjustable to be able to provide gentler and surface level skin resurfacing and skin tightening to more deeper and aggressive treatment options. The CO2 option works to tighten the skin from the inside out, while triggering increased collagen and elastin production.

Who is a good candidate for Helix treatments?

After a comprehensive skin care consultation, your medical aesthetician or aesthetic nurse will be able to determine your unique settings need to achieve a safe and effective Helix treatment. You may be the perfect candidate if you suffer from:

  • Deep set wrinkles
  • Skin laxity
  • Acne scars
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage
  • Dull skin tone and texture
  • Crepey skin
  • Stretch marks

How do I prepare for my Helix treatment?

To prepare your skin for the best treatment outcome, there are a few things to keep in mind prior your treatment:

  • 1-2 weeks before treatment: avoid direct sun and tanning beds as this can make it more difficult to treat hyperpigmentation.
  • 5-10 days before treatment: please alert your provider during your consultation if you have experienced cold sores and require a Valtrex prescription.
  • 5-7 days before treatment: avoid using any skin care items in your routine that have harsh active ingredients such as retinols, AHAs, glycolic acids, or serums.

What should I expect during the procedure?

Please make sure you come to your appointment with no makeup on if possible. To start your procedure, your provider will apply a topical numbing cream so that you are comfortable during treatment. This typically will need to sit for about 30-60 minutes depending on the type of laser setting you will be treated with.

What should I expect after the procedure?

After your Helix treatment, be sure to follow your providers directions to protect your investment! You will have some skincare recommendations that were designed to pair with laser treatments to help your skin recover and get your intended result. Be sure to stay hydrated and apply a daily SPF of 30 or higher to protect against harmful UV rays that can work against your treatment healing and results.
