A Quick Refresher: Botox!

Posted April 12, 2024 in BOTOX® Cosmetic, Injectables, MedSpa Treatments

Hello Gorgeous! Many people are misinformed about the use of Botox. Today we want to give you easy to understand information on this product that can minimize your unwanted expression lines to help you look less fatigued and more refreshed!  Perhaps you have an anti-aging skincare plan and would like to be proactive to prevent lines from forming by adding Botox to your routine.

SO… What is Botox?

Botox is a Neurotoxin that is FDA-approved for the cosmetic treatment of fine lines and wrinkles. It is injected into the muscle to stop nerve signals that control muscle movement. As a result, the muscle does not contract and temporarily smooths expression lines and wrinkles. At the MedSpa, we inject conservatively so that you look like you, but more refreshed and youthful.  You do not have to have that frozen forehead look just because you get Botox!  Working with an experienced injector makes all the difference to give you the natural look you want.

Several areas of the face that can be treated are:
  • Forehead
  • In between the Eyebrows (Glabella)
  • Eyebrows
  • Crowsfeet
  • Nose
  • Around mouth
  • Chin
  • Jawline
What is Botox Not?

It is not a dermal filler.  It does not plump or increase volume to your deep facial lines or wrinkles.

Botox is deemed safe by the FDA and is the most widely studied non-surgical procedure in the world. However, you want to make sure that you are getting this treatment from someone who is highly trained and experienced in facial anatomy. It is important that the office you go to has a physician on site and that the injectors are licensed Registered Nurses.  If you would like to learn more or are considering getting Botox injections, let our team of aesthetic nurse injectors at Wake Plastic Surgery MedSpa help you decide if this treatment is right for you.
