What are PRF Injectables?
Platelet Rich Fibrin – also known as “liquid gold” – is a serum created from a sample of a patients’ own blood. This PRF serum is used the same way we use regular filler injections, to increase volume and decrease the appearance of fine lines. To create PRF, the blood sample is spun through a centrifuge to separate it into different components – it separates the heavier white blood cells and stem cells from the lighter platelets and plasma. However, it does not separate them completely, leaving more white blood cells and stem cells in the platelet layer of PRF than in PRP (check out our PRP blog here!). Because of this, PRF contains up to 10 times more concentrated platelets than the body does naturally.
PRF is 100% natural and does not use additives – this allows the fibrin found within your blood to activate growth factors naturally. Because they are natural and made from your body’s own cells, PRF injectables are safe for anyone wanting more youthful-looking skin. The plasma incites your body to produce more collagen and has anti-inflammatory properties.
