Emily has been a nurse for 15 years, but now is also our most experienced nurse injector. Kristi began her love for skincare more than ten years ago when she became a Licensed Medical Aesthetician. Since then she continued to expand her knowledge base with her CANS certification in 2019 and is licensed in the state of North Carolina as a Registered Nurse.

Glabella
The glabella is the area of the forehead between the eyebrows. There is a paired set of muscles called the corrugators that function to draw the inner aspect of the eyebrow inward and downward. As we age, the result is the development of vertical lines between the brows often referred to as the “11” lines. Another muscle centered on the glabella called the procerus muscle causes some horizontal wrinkles to develop just above the bridge of the nose. Both of these muscle groups can be relaxed with BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Forehead
The forehead has a large sheet muscle called the frontalis that consists of vertically arranged muscle fibers running between the scalp and the eyebrows. When the eyebrows are lifted, horizontal wrinkles become more pronounced across the forehead. These wrinkles can be eliminated with the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic.

When we squint, the skin between the eye and the ear gathers. The wrinkles that result are often referred to as crow’s feet wrinkles. The severity of these wrinkles increases with age and can be compounded by sun exposure, improper eye protection, and smoking. The muscle that is under the skin called the orbicularis oculi can be relaxed with BOTOX® Cosmetic to soften the appearance of these wrinkles.
Lip Flip with Botox
Lip Flip
A lip flip is a non-invasive way to get a fuller upper lip using a few units of Botox. Botox is injected into the upper lip and relaxes the muscles there, allowing the upper lip to “flip” outward and upward slightly which creates the appearance of a fuller upper lip. The results are natural and subtle, with results lasting between two to four months.

Are Botox injections painful?
Getting Botox injected feels different for everyone. Botox is injected into the area being treated by a very, very small 30 gauge-needle. The is 0.076 millimeters, or about 4.5 human hairs! While there is a pinch with any injection, many patients have said it feels like being bitten by a little mosquito.
How much Botox do need?
Our nurse injectors inject very conservatively at The MedSpa and will never try and up-sale you on treatments that you do not want or need! After your comprehensive consultation, your nurse injector will discuss with you how many units she would recommend to achieve the best outcome before starting the treatment. Botox are sold by the unit injected. Areas of the face have different unit amounts need for best results.
How often do I need to get Botox?
Most patients find that their sweet spot for getting treatment is every 3-4 months.
What should I expect to look like or feel like after treatment?
Immediately after treatment you will have small raised red bumps at the injection sites that fade in about 15 – 30 minutes. We recommend not work out for the rest of the day, or wear any tight-fitting hats or headbands, and do not lay face down for 3 hours after treatment. Other than that, you can carry out your regular routine.
Can I get Botox with another treatment the same day?
In most cases, you can get Botox with another treatment the same day at the MedSpa. For example, you can get a custom facial and Botox the same day, but we will schedule your facial first and then your Botox as your last appointment.
How long is a Botox appointment?
If you are a new patient with us, we want to get to know your skin rejuvenation goals and discuss options before creating your treatment plan with you at a comprehensive consultation! For new patients, plan on being with us for about an hour for consultation. For returning patients, plan on being with us for about 30 minutes.
