Today, our blog is about one of our most popular procedures here at the MedSpa at Wake Plastic Surgery: The Platinum Facial! “I received PRP w/ HA from Kristi with the goal of improving my skin texture and helping to increase my collagen production as I age. I did a lot of research before deciding to inquire with Wake Plastic Surgery about micro-needling with PRP, and after reading about the procedure online and calling the office I decided that it would be a good fit for me.
During my consultation with Kristi, we talked about my skincare goals and the benefits of PRP for the face. Kristi explained to me how the treatment would be performed and what I would need to do to prepare. She advised me to increase my water intake about a week prior to treatment and reduce my salt intake to maximize my results. Once I felt confident about the treatment and what I needed to do to prepare we booked the Platinum Facial (PRP w/ HA) for about a week out.
The day of the procedure I washed my face and only put on a thin layer of light moisturizer as Kristi said to come in for the treatment with bare skin. We started with the numbing cream to allow the full effects to take place before beginning the treatment. The treatment rooms are very posh, and I was able to cover up with a blanket and she had music playing for relaxation. While we allowed the numbing to activate, Kristi started the blood drawing portion which required one vial to be filled and then put into a centrifuge. She explained to me that the centrifuge separates the plasma from the blood cells and that she will re-apply the plasma as she is micro-needling my skin.
The treatment itself was a breeze, I could feel what Kristi was doing but I wasn’t able to feel the pricks of any of the needles. The PRP solution was applied as she worked her way from my forehead down to my neck. The skin in the treated areas felt immediately tight and the plasma helped cool down the affected areas from the SkinPen. The treatment itself was quick and the immediate results left my skin red with some minor pinpoint bleeding in several areas. I left immediately after the treatment and was able to drive myself home without any issues.
I am now two weeks post-procedure, and I am obsessed with my results! I have done SkinPen in the past with a hyaluronic acid product, but the results I have received with the plasma/HA combination have been next level to say the least. My skin has a glow I never thought was possible and the overall health of my skin has seen a borderline dramatic improvement. The treatment was a breeze, with minimal downtime, and impressive results – I would absolutely recommend the PRP w/ HA for anyone who needs to look (and feel) refreshed.”
